Material Safety

Skin-Safe, Lab-Proven

SGS-certified biocompatibility testing confirms our mask is safe for direct skin contact

When something sits on your face for 10–20 minutes at a time, you want to know it's safe. That's why we sent our mask's silicone material to SGS — one of the world's leading testing companies — for three rigorous biocompatibility tests. Here's what they found.

Cytotoxicity

"Is it toxic to cells?"

94.1%

Cell viability — cells stayed healthy

Grade 0 (non-toxic) — PASSED

Skin Irritation

"Does it irritate skin?"

PII = 0

Zero irritation score

Negligible irritation — PASSED

Sensitization

"Does it cause allergies?"

0%

Sensitization rate

No allergic reaction — PASSED

What Each Test Means (In Plain English)

1. Cytotoxicity Test — "Will it harm my cells?"

Scientists placed lab-grown cells (L-929 mouse connective tissue cells) in contact with our mask material for 24 hours. Then they measured how many cells survived.

A cell viability above 70% means the material is non-toxic. Our result: 94.13% of cells remained healthy — well above the safety threshold.

Bottom line: The material that touches your skin does not damage living cells.

2. Skin Irritation Test — "Will it cause redness or rash?"

Using the standard rabbit skin patch method, researchers applied our mask material extract to skin and monitored for redness (erythema) and swelling (edema) over 72 hours.

The Primary Irritation Index (PII) ranges from 0 (no irritation) to 8 (severe). Our result: PII = 0 — zero irritation in both polar and non-polar test conditions.

Bottom line: The mask material causes no redness, swelling, or irritation, even with prolonged contact.

3. Sensitization Test — "Will I develop an allergy?"

Using the Guinea Pig Maximization Test (GPMT), researchers repeatedly exposed test animals to our mask material over several weeks to check if an allergic reaction would develop.

A sensitization rate of 0% means no allergic response was triggered. Our result: 0% sensitization in both polar and non-polar test groups.

Bottom line: The mask material will not cause allergic reactions, even with repeated, long-term use.
